Biggest Challege

In this class my biggest challenge would have to be working with the Mac computers in general. I have a PC at home and I am very comfortable with the programs. Also the way the PC is set up seems more understandable to me. With a Mac, I am not as content with the programs. Learning these programs will take a little bit longer to learn.

It seems like with the Mac computers I have problems with the simplest of tasks. With the mouse I keep pushing the buttons on the side and it hides all of my programs. Another issue with the mouse that I have is the right click has to be clicked in the perfect area to work.

The short cuts with the Mac are a whole other issue. I have yet to memorize the cutting, pasting and all the other short cuts for the Mac. These short cuts seem to be the only way to get done what you want accomplished. With a PC there are many different options to do the task you want to get completed.

The last complication with the Mac computer is closing of the programs. I feel like I have closed something and I come to find that it is sill open and logged into what I was in before. That makes me uncomfortable when I think of the people who use the computer after me. I worry that they could have access to my information. With the PC whichever way you choose to close the program you only have to do it once. The PC is simple and understandable. Although every time we have this class I am one step closer to knowing the Mac. Hopefully soon I will be able to operate the Mac as well as my PC.

Creating Music

Personally I am interested in relaxing songs. Anything that I can feel like nothing else is wrong or going on in the world is the music for me. If I could create songs I would create something for all the other people out there like me. Using acoustic guitars, pianos, and a little bit of drums would be the core of my music melodies.

All of my creations would not necessarily have or even need a singer. I would most likely add nature sounds to my music. I am really into yoga and pilates. The nature music would really key into the relaxation melody needed for these exercises. Because of the many yoga and pilates classes the music I listen too is different then what people would normally listen too. I think creating the music for these specific needs would really be exciting for me.

I don’t have any music experience at all but if I could learn I would hope people would feel the way I feel. Relaxing is very important in life. I would love to be able to spread around the opportunity of relaxation in music. With the soft and elegant music I would create, it should help with achieving this relaxation.

Week 2 EOC

There are a couple of topics with the Internet that scare me. My number one would be all of the creepers out there. I like to network on Facebook because it is quick and easy to use. It really bothers me though when people I don’t know ask to be my friend. Even if I decline, it’s possible to keep messaging me as much as they want. I hear all of these reports of sexual predators using Myspace and Facebook to find their mark and it just freaks me out.

I am also nervous about purchasing items over websites even with larger corporations such as Target or Victoria Secret. Entering all my payment information makes me feel uncomfortable. I feel like someone could hack in and steal my information and my identity.

Another concern I have with the Internet is of course viruses. Not too long ago I had the same issue as the woman Keren Brophy in the article given. I too received a pop up saying that I needed to update my anti-virus spyware. It also looked legit so I clicked it and after that every couple of minutes I would get shut out of everything and anything I was doing. The next day when I went in to have technicians look at it they reported to me that they were having a hard time keeping my computer on. Luckily they said I caught the virus in time and that I did not have to strip and re-load my programs. The thing that scared me the most about this whole event was that I wasn’t even browsing the Internet at the time.

My last concern isn’t as big to me as the others three but I also get nervous when searching Google. I never know what is a good link to click when searching for information I might need. I just don’t like the surprise of advertisements I’m not prepared for to pop up. Especially when it is porn or strange loud unnecessary sounds.

About Me

My Interest in Interior Design led me to pursue and Interior Design degree. I love to design both residential and commercial interiors. Large open multi-purpose residential rooms and upscale office spaces are some of my favorite design opportunities. The post modern and neoclassical architecture design styles capture my attention. I am always open to incorporating new ideas from other artists into my designs. The art in architecture is very important to consider when I am designing an interior space. I feel that the art becomes an integral part of the room. From time to time the art being used is very personal to the design as it belongs to the client. It is important to me to get to know my clientele on a more personal level. I specialize in customizing my design to fit my clients’ lifestyle, work place, and personal preferences. I focus on creating comfortable, functional environments for all occupants of the space. I enjoy using all types of materials and art work in unique ways to create interesting and exciting spaces. I believe that our external surroundings are a huge part of our individual environments. I am sensitive to the fact that we impact the world around us and encourage my clients to ‘Go Green’. I try to utilize ‘green’ materials whenever possible so that the exterior and interior areas become harmoniously intertwined. Whether the design project is large or small, commercial or residential, my clients’ satisfaction is my top priority. I am committed to working side by side with them to achieve this goal.
